Federation for Choral Music (Singapore), also known as SFCM, is a society formed with a strong intent and purpose of promoting choral music appreciation internationally and facilitating communication and exchange between choral musicians in Singapore. Similar societies have been established worldwide, to name a few, the International Federation for Choral Music, Korea Federation for Choral Music and British Columbia Choral Federation. By forming SFCM and leveraging on Singapore's multi-cultural society and geographical location, we hope to provide a perfect platform for local and Asian choral musicians to connect with the international choral scene thereby providing more opportunities for professional choral artistic development in the region.
To achieve our goals, SFCM will actively organize and facilitate high quality international and local school exchange programmes, choir competitions, workshops, concerts and festivals. By exposing the young to international choral events and competitions, SFCM will nurture a new generation of choral music enthusiasts. We believe that through our programmes and workshops like choir management, SFCM would be able to groom local talents and equip them with sufficient professional competencies in the music industry. Lastly, with our wide spectrum of activities, SFCM will engage local communities to the amazing world of choral music thereby bring choral music appreciation in Singapore to the next level.
The President of Federation for Choral Music (Singapore), Mr Nelson Kwei, is an accomplished conductor, music arranger and a very much familiar figure in the local choral scene. Trained in the art of vocal music since the young age of eight, Mr Kwei has a Licentiate in singing from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music. He won the coveted title of "Most Promising Singer" in the Asian Art Song Competition at the age of 20 and was also Singapore's first choral scholar in 1990, pursuing his studies in advanced conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In the following years, Mr Kwei attained numerous awards that cemented his position as one of the top choral talents in Singapore.
It was Mr Kwei's burning passion for choral music that lead to the forming of the Federation for Choral Music (Singapore). SFCM believes that under our President Mr Kwei's guidance and leadership we would be able to achieve our goals and objectives thereby catapulting the choral music scene in Singapore to greater heights.

- Members may take part in all events that are organized or sponsored by SFCM.
- Members will receive newsletters.
- Members are eligible for discounted registration fees for SFCM events.
- Members will have priority in registering for SFCM events.
- Members will be assisted in establishing international ties.
